• Stirling Castle with its Palace and wonderfully restored Great Hall opened by the Queen in 1999
• The Wallace Monument (photo below) to Scotland's hero. See Wallace's great sword whose hilt is bound with the skin flayed from Sir Hugh de Cressingham after the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297
• Bannockburn visitor centre and Battlefield where Bruce established Scottish independence in 1314.
• Romantic Loch Katrine with the 100 year old steamer SS Sir Walter Scott. You can hire bikes, take them on the steamer and cycle back along the shores of the Loch!
• Doune Castle which was used in the filming of Monty Python and the Holy Grail
• The spectacular Falkirk Wheel, linking the Forth-Clyde canal systems
• Blair Drummond Safari Park
• Castle Campbell and the walk in beautiful Dollar Glen
• The Darn Walk on the old drove road to Dunblane. The walk there and back takes 2 hours or you can come back on the train!
• Glengoyne Distillery with a tour and a dram. See the salmon leap at Gartness on the way home
• Gleneagles Golf Course just 20 minutes drive away.
• Holy Trinity Church, Bridge of Allan, with chancel furnishings designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1904. Church is open on Saturdays, June to September
